| Luna Park
Luna Park is in St. Kilda, it opened in 1912. It is Melbourne's iconic amusement park and is owned by transport magnate Lindsay Fox. Luna Park is recognisable for its huge, moon face entrance. The scenic railway is the oldest continually operated roller coaster in the world. The beautiful restored carousal is heritage listed. There are 16 rides and 3 rollercoasters. Puffing Billy
Puffing Billy is a steam-operated narrow-gauge railway running in the Dandenong Ranges forty kilometres to the east of Melbourne city centre. For almost a century Puffing Billy has traveled the 13km track from Belgrave to Emerald Lake. Passengers ride in open carriages taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Dandenongs. Every May hundreds of runners pit themselves against Puffing Billy's big brother G42 in an unique 13km fun run, racing the train. Read more about Puffing Billy. Scienceworks Musuem
Lots of fun can be had exploring science and technology at the Scienceworks Musuem in Spotswood, 5km from Melbourne's city centre. There are hands on exhibitions, live demonstrations, tours, activities and shows all designed to satisfy curious minds. Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre
This centre cost $65million to build and opened in 1997 in Melbourne's popular Albert Park precinct. The 2006 Commonwealth Games events were hosted at the centre as well as the 2007 World Swimming Championships. The Aquatic centre has a wet & wild wave pool which is turned on every half hour, as well as a 50m long water slide. Pools are indoor and outdoor, 50m and 25m as well as a diving pool.
